First week
Hello everyone!!I know everyone is dying to know how the new job is going, and I’m happy to report it is going extremely well.
Well, mostly.
The people are fantastic, I feel as if people are going out of their way to be nice and friendly. I’ve also had a warning that there are people who are not fans of the school because they are involved in the public education system. Hey, I’m all for public education, but have chosen to go a different route with my career. And, I believe in the school system I am a part of as well. Both have their flaws and faults but both are working toward a common goal, to prepare leaders for tomorrow.
So my principal, while I’m sure I will not like her 100% all the time, seems to be much “different” than my old principal. My fellow teachers are nice and kind and open and just fun to be around.
Today was my “installation” which is basically me making a promise to the church/school to teach my faith’s beliefs and to serve them wholeheartedly. In turn, they also promised to support me. We’ll see how that goes. No where is perfect.
My classroom is still a mess. There are a ton of things that need to be moved out and even more things that need to be moved in. I’m looking forward to this week, really getting things set up and ready to go.
However, I have not dreaded getting up in the morning. I look forward to going in to my job. And, even though my drive is 3 times as long as it was in NJ, I don’t mind it. I have been really blessed to find this job and am excited about it.
THAT is something I haven’t been able to say for a while and I’m really happy to say it now!
Life is good!
