Memorial Day weekend

What a fantastic last five days! Spending time with Jeff and his family was great. It went way too fast and tomorrow it’s back to work and the real world. The world where calories count! I have a sneaking suspicion they were counting this weekend when I ate out about 10 times and wasn’t real discriminating with what I ordered off of the menu!

To start off the weekend, Jeff came in Friday night and came to my place for a nice dinner and dessert of chocolate covered strawberries that I made myself. Mmmm. Saturday we went to Philadelphia and did the tourist thing, one last time for me. We visited some historical things and museums, as well as eating cheese steaks and cannoli from the Reading Terminal Market. We rented movies and came home. After we arrived home we were invited over to one of my coworkers place’s for coffee. We stayed there until late and then came home and watched National Treasure, which was a very good movie. Two thumbs up!

Sunday we went to church, went shopping, and went to a Farewell Party thrown by members of the committees I’m on at church. It was very nice. I received some beautiful nesting bowls, and Eagle’s football, and some generous gift certificates to Target. It was so nice that so many people came to bed me adieu. I will truly miss and remember each of the people that were at the party and I’m sad to leave them behind when I go.

Monday we made the trip to MD and went to a bbq thrown my one of my future-sister-in-law’s friends. It was nice to meet some new people and hear some interesting stories. Monday evening Jeff and I spent in a Hilton by ourselves. We enjoyed the pool and the sauna, having them to ourselves, except for the lifeguard. His sister treated us to the night at the Hilton, and it was really nice. I found out later that one of his sister’s friends worked there and got us a really good deal.

Tuesday morning it was up bright and early to attend future nephew’s graduation ceremony. It was a nice ceremony, the speakers quick and the handing out of diplomas long. We went out for lunch and Macaroni Grill, where his sister again treated us. She happens to work for the company that owns MG. So, she got another great deal. There are definitely perks to knowing people in different professions! 

After lunch, we made our way back to NJ and watched another movie. This one was not so great…I won’t even bore you with the name. I fell asleep.

Today we slept in and got up and went to lunch at my favorite restaurant, Italian Bistro. This COULD be the last time I get to eat there, so I wanted to cherish it. I ordered my absolute favorite entrée, lasagna, and also shared a dessert with Jeffrey. We went to a few stores to look at wedding things and also a store where I bought Jeff his birthday present, swimming trunks. He really didn’t want them, but needed them. He told me he’s going to do the same thing for my birthday, take me to his favorite restaurant and buy me something I don’t really want. Hehe.

Well, that is a summary of my weekend. It was a really good time and I can’t wait for 23 more days to pass and I get to see my dear fiancé on a daily basis!
