engaged

Jeff and I are engaged!!!

It's hard to believe that this has finally happened! Here's the story of how it all went down.

Jeff took me to this extravagant place called Bentons on top of the Westin Crown Center in KCMO. We both were all dressed up and looked really nice. We order wine, appetizers, our meal, got through it all, meanwhile I am thinking: "If he doesn't propose tonight, he is going to have to do a LOT to top this one!" After dinner I excused myself to use the ladies room. When I came back, Jeff said he ordered triple chocolate cake for me for dessert, which made me very happy. The host came and filled up our wine glasses, and asked if we were ready for dessert. He then brought out a covered plate, set it down on our table, and when he lifted to cover he said "enjoy!" and ran away. Under the cover was a plate filled with rose petals, with the open ring box in the center. Jeff stood up, came over to my side of the table, got on his knee gave me a beautiful speech, and asked me to be his wife. I, of course, said yes, and he put the ring on my finger. I got a little teary eyed as Jeff explained how he pulled it all off and we stayed and took a few pictures (soon to be on buzznet) and later floated out of the restaurant, down the elevator, to the car, and back home to call family and friends and tell them the good news.

I'm so excited that this phase of my life is beginning. I cannot wait to get into the wedding planning and get things going. I especially can't wait for the marriage part of things.
