earlymorning

Question: Can I manage working out before work?

What I learned: Getting up at 5:30 has its rewards, but so does my sleep!
(Suburban Island Style today!)

So I started going to Curves in the morning. The Curves I used to go to is too far away, there is one more nearby, so I’m transferring there. It is amazing how nice working out in the morning is. I get up an hour earlier than normal, change clothes, brush my teeth and hair, and make a mad dash for the door. Oh yeah, I make sure to put my contacts in before I leave or I wouldn’t get very far before I started running in to things. I work out, lightly chatting with the people near me, get back in the car, and get home and in the shower earlier than I normally do. I can take my time a little getting ready and actually sit and eat breakfast, not having to grab something that I can eat in the car.

So far, I’ve done it two days. Only two. I’m debating on if I should get up tomorrow morning. I was not going to, but one of my coworkers goes there early like me and she will be there in the morning and was trying to convince me to come. I had a long day and would really like the sleep, but on the other hand, this getting up and the crack of dawn thing won’t become habit until I do it over and over. I don’t want to ruin my good streak!

This week I have also been fighting my incredible urge to take a nap every evening. Usually around 5:30-6:30 I just can’t take it anymore and need to sleep. This, in turn, causes me to have a hard time getting to sleep at night. I have been napless since Monday. Tomorrow I know I won’t have time for one, nor will I on Friday.

No matter what I decide about tomorrow and Friday and getting up early, Saturday is mine. I am sleeping in Saturday unless God Himself tells me I have to get up early.

Anyway, I knew I had to change something because my weight loss just hasn’t been happening lately, so maybe this is it. Getting up early and working out is a good way to start off my day in a healthy manner. Plus, it sure beats having to work out after working all day.
