Thanksgiving2004
My Thanksgiving was great! On Wednesday, I departed PHL to go to MCI, which is almost a 3 hour flight. I got into Kansas City a little early, so that was nice. Then Thursday Jeff and I prepared the Thanksgiving turkey, mashed potatoes, and a cheesecake. Jeff's mom brought the rest of the meal over to Jeff's place, and we celebrated Thanksgiving with Jeff's family.
Jeff's apartment is SO nice. It has a full-size washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a balcony, AND a fireplace. His place is a lot nicer than mine, that's for sure. I can't wait to spend time there on a regular basis!
Anyway, we went to the Plaza in KC on Thursday night, where they do some lighting ceremony thing. We missed the ceremony, but listened to a choir sing and got to see some fireworks as well, which was nice. It was very crowded there and people were pushing and shoving, so that put a little bit of a damper on the festivities on my end. But it was still really nice to go and do something different and spend quality time with Jeff.
Friday we went RING shopping. I know which one I want, and I know Jeff knows which one I want, but I don't know which one I'm getting yet, for sure. I also don't know when I'm getting it yet, which is absolutely torturous! After we finished we ate lunch at Rainforest Cafe and headed back home.
We also started a fire in Jeff's apartment Friday, and it wasn't in the fireplace. I'll write more about that episode later! We did have a few fires in the fireplace, that was really nice as well as nostalgic for me.
Saturday we drove two hours to meet my parents, my brother, and his family for lunch. I hadn't seen them since August so it was definitely nice to see each other and catch up a little bit. I will see them again in a month, I'm counting down the days. I made a paper chain for our classroom today.
Sunday we slept in and went out for lunch before going to the airport. Jeff waited at MCI with me for a little while but when I went through security I told him he had to leave. There is a glass wall where you can see each other, last time we talked on our cell phones while we could still see each other. That was, like waiting for a proposal, completely torturous, so this time I told him he had to go. I didn't cry until I was through security and called him to let him know it went alright. And then it was only a few tears. I'm doing better than the hour or more of sobbing I used to do.
I got back tp PHL without much of a problem. The landing was a little rough, but we made it.
So many more things happened that I am not writing about, like our 8 trips to walmart.
